Easter Family fun in Kuranda

Chocolate lovers will be out in force for the Kuranda Easter festival, hosted in the rainforest on Easter Saturday. 14,000 Easter eggs will rain down on Kuranda. Join us for a day jam packed full of free family entertainment for the annual Kuranda Easter Festival!

The Kuranda village Easter egg drop is a highlight for local and visiting children alike. The Easter Bunny will drop eggs at Easter in the Park from high above every hour on the hour from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Centenary Park. A special area will be set aside for the littlies aged up to five years old separate to the main crowd for the drops, and to have a photo with the Easter Bunny.

The Kuranda Easter Festival entertainment at Centenary Park includes a host of great acts, games and much more, check out the schedule:

  • 10.30am – Magic Show in Centenary Park
  • 11.00am – Easter Egg Drop (with Golden Egg)  
  • 11.30am – Pamagirri Aboriginal Dance Performance 
  • 11.30am – Kuranda Candy Kitchen – candy making demonstration (21 Coondoo Street) 
  • 11.30am – Live music at Kuranda Hotel 
  • 11.45am – Whip Cracking Demonstration by Kuranda local Tim Riley 
  • 12.00pm – Easter Egg Drop (with Golden Egg) 
  • 12.15pm – Dream State Circus performance 
  • 1.00pm – Easter Egg Drop (with Golden Egg) 
  • 1.30pm – Kuranda sack races & Egg & Spoon Race  
  • 1.30pm – Kuranda Candy Kitchen – candy making demonstration (21 Coondoo Street) 
  • 2.00pm – Easter Egg Drop (with Golden Egg)

The Kuranda Candy Kitchen will have candy making demonstrations at their Coondoo Street store at 11:30am and 1:30pm. If you haven’t seen candy being made before this is not to be missed! There will be live music with Lunar Moon playing at The Kuranda Hotel from 11:30am. This great free family fun day will be an exciting place for kids to spend Easter Saturday. There will be three jumping castles with one set aside for the youngest kids, kids’ games, street performers, a magic show, four face painters, thrilling performance shows and market and information stalls including the Kuranda Arts Co-Op, Kuranda Envirocare and Kuranda Conservation.

Schedule your day to make sure you save a spot for the world famous Dream State Circus duo Sophie and Jacob McGrath, who will provide an action packed performance with diabolos, juggling balls, hula hoops and stilts!

The Kuranda Easter festival is from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday the 15th of April at Centenary Park in Kuranda, the rainforest of Tropical North Queensland.
