To Skyrail Rainforest Cableway
|
From the Northern Beaches and Port Douglas
|
- Travel south towards Cairns on the Captain Cook Highway.
- Go straight through the roundabout next to Smithfield Shopping Centre; move into the right lane as you cross Avondale Creek to take the exit to the roundabout (on your right).
- Turn right at this roundabout (Skyrail and Tjapukai are visible on your right).
- Travel approximately 100m and then turn right to Skyrail (follow the signs).

From the Southern Suburbs and Innisfail via the City
|
- Travel along the Bruce Highway until it turns into Mulgrave Road.
- You will pass Stockland Cairns Shopping Centre on your right (big Marlin).
- Keep travelling along Mulgrave Road for approximately 4km until it becomes Florence Street.
- At the Florence and Sheridan Street intersection (traffic lights), turn left on to Sheridan Street.
- Travel along Sheridan Street (which will become the Captain Cook Highway) for approximately 13kms.
- You will pass the airport, cross the Barron River on the W.W. Mason Bridges and go through the Machans Beach, Holloways Beach and Yorkeys Knob roundabouts.
- At the 4th roundabout on the highway, when Skyrail is directly in front of you, turn left on to the Cairns Western Arterial Road.
- Travel approximately 100m and then turn right into Skyrail (follow the signs).

From the Southern Suburbs and Innisfail via Brinsmead
|
- Travel along the Bruce Highway until it turns into Mulgrave Road.
- Look out for Stockland Cairns Shopping Centre on your right (big Marlin) and once there, move into the left lane in preparation to turn left in approximately one kilometre.
- At the Mulgrave Road and McCoombe Street intersection, turn left into McCoombe Street (exit is just before the traffi c lights), following the sign to Freshwater/Redlynch.
- Stay on McCoombe Street until you pass Raintrees Shopping Centre (on your left) and after the next set of traffic lights, move into the left lane.
- When you reach the Pease Street and Reservoir Road intersection, turn left into Reservoir Road (exit is just before the traffi c lights) towards Redlynch/Freshwater.
- Continue on Reservoir Road until it becomes the Cairns Western Arterial Road; stay on this road for approximately 12kms, you will pass over Freshwater Creek on the Bill Fulton Bridge and over the Barron River on Kamerunga Bridge.
- Keep travelling until you pass the Caravonica State School (on your left).
- The entrance to Skyrail is a left hand turn, approximately 200m after Caravonica State School.

From Cairns City
|
- Travel north along Sheridan Street (which will become the Captain Cook Highway) for approximately 13kms.
- On the way to Skyrail, you will pass the airport, cross the Barron River on the W.W. Mason Bridges and go through the Machans Beach, Holloways Beach and Yorkeys Knob roundabouts.

To Kuranda Scenic Railway’s Freshwater Station

From the Northern Beaches and Port Douglas

- Travel south towards Cairns on the Captain Cook Highway.
- Go straight through the roundabout next to Smithfield Shopping Centre; move into the right lane as you cross Avondale Creek to take the exit to the roundabout (on your right).
- Turn right at this roundabout (Skyrail and Tjapukai are visible on your right).
- Continue straight ahead for approximately 4km, passing over the Barron River on Kamerunga Bridge.
- After the bridge, go straight through the first set of traffic lights and then look for the right turn towards Redlynch (this is sign-posted). Turn right to Redlynch.
- Follow this road until you get to the Railway crossing, cross over it and then turn left on to Kamerunga Road. (The Red Beret Hotel will be on your right).
- Continue straight ahead, crossing the Freshwater Creek Bridge and going straight through the roundabout.
- After this roundabout, approximately 700m on your left, you will see Freshwater Railway Station. The carpark is located at the far end of the complex.

- After the first set of traffic lights (past the service station), move into the right lane and prepare to turn right towards Freshwater (along Brinsmead Road).
- Turn on to Brinsmead Road and follow it until you reach the roundabout; turn right at the roundabout on Kamerunga Road.
- Approximately 700m on your left, you will see Freshwater Railway Station. The carpark is located at the far end of the complex.

From Cairns City
|
- Travel along Sheridan Street (which becomes the Captain Cook Highway).
- Pass the airport turnoff (on the right) and travel over Saltwater Creek Bridge; you should be in the left lane as you approach these traffic lights.
- Turn left at these lights, into Aeroglen Drive (this is sign-posted).
- Follow this road for approximately 6km and on your right, you will see Freshwater Railway Station. The carpark is located at the closest end of the complex to you.
